100 years Peace Palace

As part of the 100th anniversary of The Peace Palace in The Hague, I was the creative producer responsible for the Tribute To Peace concert with Trijntje Oosterhuis and the Music & Peace Choir Festival. Trijntje Oosterhuis performed together with the Residentie Orchestra and the popular rap group The Opposites. In the garden of the Peace Palace, they performed a mix of pop, rap and classical music. The concert was a tribute to peace and part of the series of concerts given to mark the 100th anniversary of the Peace Palace. Unfortunately, code red was issued on that particular evening due to heavy storm. The concert was cancelled halfway through and performed again later that year at the Anton Philipszaal in The Hague.

In connection with the 100th anniversary of the Peace Palace, I came up with a special form for the World Press Photo exhibition in the unique hall of the Peace Palace.

It seemed very special to me to put precisely these photos in which injustice and human tragedies are visible in the light in the Peace Palace.

A palace that is not normally open to the public. But where hundreds of people have been working for 100 years to achieve Peace through Justice. The exhibition succeeded and I am very proud of that.
