Jacobine on Sunday KRO-NCRV
A two-part series of the program Jacobine on Sunday in which Trijntje Oosterhuis and Huub Oosterhuis look back on the concert in Carré which was a musical tribute by Trijntje to her father. In the first episode, Trijntje speaks only with Jacobine about the preparations for the concert and the meaning of the music and lyrics for herself. In part 2, her father also joins the conversation.
'A gift to my father,' is how singer Trijntje Oosterhuis labels the concert she gave November 9th in a packed Royal Theater Carré. The KRO-NCRV program Jacobine op Zondag will broadcast the concert in two parts on Dec. 16 and 23 on NPO 2. Jacobine Geel talks with the recently turned 85 poet, theologian Huub Oosterhuis and his daughter Trijntje.
The common thread in the concert is the family bond. Trijntje and Huub talk about how they pulled together for this project. About the lyrics, the music and their special father-daughter bond. The popular singer feels blessed to have a father who is always there for her.
Trijntje doesn't hide her appreciation for her father's immense oeuvre: 'It's beautiful how my father's lyrics manage to connect all kinds of people again and again.'
For father Huub it was a penetrating and intense experience to be put in the spotlight by his daughter in Carré surrounded by family and friends and 'fans'. 'I heard again the songs that are often sung by choirs in a pure and penetrating way.'
Media Luna is producer of the recording of the concert and of this two-part series.
